Aistė Skliaudytė

London, Caffe Nero

I’m really pleased to say hello to you since you’ve decided to visit my website

Let me introduce myself, so that you could feel what my virtues and beliefs are. I’m Aistė, currently living in England but originally I come from a small country called Lithuania. My road as a painter has started not so long ago, and I still call myself a beginner in painting. To be honest, I can’t remember the day when unexpectedly to my own surprise I bought some paints and brushes. But I remember perfectly the day when I painted my first picture. The year 2021 was about to end as it was 30th December. So, the date which has become significant to me is 30/12/2021.

Since that day I’ve been painting to my own pleasure, going through different techniques and making my own way in teaching myself. Luckily, after six months of individual progress and lots of hesitation, life gave me a chance to meet a painting teacher whose lessons I’ve been taking up till now. I feel gratitude to my teacher as these lessons of drawing and painting has allowed to discover what I want to do in my life and who I want to be, and which is the direction I’m going to. While I’m still in the progress of getting to know myself on the professional level, my painting techniques are different. I’m keen on painting with acrylics as much as I’m interested in drawing buildings using pencils.

Recommended exhibitions worth visiting

Victoria and Albert museum, London

I really enjoy going to art exhibitions or museums. I always get inspiration there and I enjoy looking at other people’s work. I always find myself spending a lot of time in art galleries and museums with works created in the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. It amazes me when I look at works and later discuss that with friends if I travel with a companion.
